The Midterms are graded!
Congratulations! The class averages ranged from a 79.9 to 81.1.
Everyone is expected to make corrections for homework (due Wed. Feb. 1, 2012). Please re-write the question, correct answer, and explanation and the pg # in the review books, copy your actual notes, or state the letter of the Reference Tables where the answer can be found.
This midterm counted as two unit tests in the second marking period, and is a relatively true reflection of the grade to be expected on the Regents Exam in June without any changes.
Anyone with a grade below 70 is expected to sign up to stay after-school for extra help and to go over the test one-on-one before Friday (Feb. 3, 2012).

New Reference Tables will be provided.
TOPICS ON THE MIDTERM
1) Vocabulary List- (Be familiar with and be able to define each term on this list)
2) Math Lab Skills- (Sig Figs and Conversions)
3) Physical Behavior of Matter
4) Atomic Structure
5) Nuclear
6) Periodic Table
Review sheets have been handed out for each topic above and these are expected to be completed with effort and accuracy before Thursday January 19th. With the exception of Friday, January 13, no review will be done in class. Therefore it is each student's responsibility to work on these handouts over the weekend, during study hall, and as homework during the regular week. I will be available for extra help to prepare for the midterm Tues-Fri (Jan. 17- Jan. 20).
Students have also been given their Barron's Review Books, which they paid for in Sept. These books break down questions from old REGENTS EXAMS based on topic. The "answers explained" are the end of each test. This is a VERY useful study tool.
Please take the steps necessary to prepare for success. I hope each of you do very well. Often the midterm grade reflects the grade in June on the Regents Exam.
