Labs:
The College Board has designated twelve laboratory activities as
being required for this course. The labs, listed below, will be performed
and discussed throughout the year.
Lab 1. Osmosis and Diffusion
Lab 2. Enzymes
Lab 3. Mitosis and Meiosis
Lab 4. Photosynthesis
Lab 5. Cell Respiration
Lab 6. Molecular Biology
Lab 7. Genetics
Lab 8. Population Genetics and Evolution
Lab 9. Transpiration
Lab 10. Physiology of Circulatory System
Lab 11. Habitat Selection
Lab 12. Dissolved Oxygen Lab
Grades:
Student grades are based on test scores, projects, homework, and class participation.
The A.P. exam results will be mailed to you in July, so this will not be factored into the course grade. Before the A.P. exam, students will take a two-day exam in class that will count as their final exam.
I will be sending home progress reports each five weeks to let you know how your son/daughter is doing.
A.P. Exam:
The Biology Exam will be given nationally at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14
Cost of exam: $83 to be paid to Lew-Port Activity Fund in October 2006
Exam grades will be mailed in July, on a scale of 1 - 5;
Most colleges accept scores of 3 or over for course credit
