Welcome to the Business Buzz, a web site designed to keep you informed about all of the exciting things happening in the Business Education Department at Lewiston-Porter High School. Our department offers tremendous opportunities to students interested in learning new skills, making new professional contacts, or building their student resume.

  • DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). A club offering for students interested in business. Members can compete at the local, state, and national level. (See Lew-Port Joins DECA..With GREAT Success)
  • Students interested in getting a taste of a real-world work experience in their chosen career field should participate in the Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP). (See Internships for All..What is CEIP?)
  • The Business and Marketing Honor Society of New York State offers students who meet certain criteria to obtain membership to an academic society promoting business and entrepreneurial spirit. (See “Honoring" Business)
  • Stock Market Game. Recently some of our business students participated in a stock market game in their Personal Finance and Inventment class. (See "Stock Market Success" to find out who came out on top in New York State)
  • Adopt-A-Highway. The Business Education Department has decided to show their pride in the Lewiston-Porter community through the Adoption of a portion of Creek Road. (See "Keeping Creek Clean" for more information.)
