Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations

The Lewiston-Porter Alumni Association is looking for Lew-Port alumni who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career, community service, or otherwise having significantly impacted the lives of others.  Anyone who has graduated from Lew-Port at least five years prior to nomination is eligible. Posthumous recognition is also granted.

Feel free to send in as many nominations as you like.  We want to recognize as many deserving alumni as possible.  Please complete the Distinguished Alumni Award Nomination Form below.

Distinguished Alumni Award Criteria

Purposes

  • Honor Lew-Port Alumni who have distinguished themselves in various areas after graduation or have otherwise had a positive impact on society
  • Provide visible evidence of role models to motivate current Lew-Port students
  • Recognize the role faculty/administrators have had in the lifelong success of distinguished graduates
  • Strategically fits with LPAA vision to support students, teachers, alumni, and community service

Criteria

  1. Graduate of Lew-Port at least 5 years prior to nomination
  2. Achieved noteworthy success in selected area
  3. Posthumous recognition possible
  4. Absence of civil or criminal record/activities
  5. Any graduate eligible for consideration in any year regardless of distinguishing area. If possible, please specify category of interest, such as agriculture, education, community service, arts & entertainment, military, clergy, health professionals, law, finance, volunteerism, etc., as a basis for selections over a span of time such as five years
  6. Multiple honorees each year

Outcomes

  • Positive real world and public relations impact on LPAA, School District, and community
  • Publicity and program activities provide incentives for monetary or other support to the LPAA
  • Photos and bio's publicly posted at Lew-Port for ongoing recognition of winners and motivation to students/faculty/administrators
  • Perpetual plaque mounted at Lew-Port School with honoree names
  • Honorees provided "Distinguished Alumni" lapel pin and memento
  • Honorees recognized at an award ceremony at Lew-Port and encouraged to speak with students and faculty about their life, career, and impact of Lew-Port and local community on their life
