Lewiston-Porter to Celebrate Grand Opening of Newly Renovated Blakeslee, Elia Stadium Complex

The Lewiston-Porter Central School District is pleased to invite students, families, alumni, staff, and members of the greater community to join us for the Grand Opening of the newly renovated Blakeslee–Elia Stadium Complex on Friday, September 25, from 6:00 - 6:15 p.m.

The brief ceremony will take place in the grass, park-like area at the main entrance between Blakeslee and Elia Stadiums and will celebrate the completion of a major investment in Lewiston-Porter's athletic facilities and campus.

The renovation represents the culmination of several years of planning focused on addressing the long-term needs of both stadiums. At Blakeslee Stadium, the existing synthetic turf had reached the point where replacement was necessary after years of service to Lewiston-Porter student-athletes and the community. The project provided for the complete re-turfing of the Blakeslee playing surface and improvements designed to extend the usefulness and quality of the facility.

At Elia Stadium, the project represents an even greater transformation, highlighted by the installation of a new synthetic turf field. The renovation provides Lewiston-Porter with a second high-quality, multi-purpose stadium capable of supporting a wide range of athletic programs and community events.

Elia Stadium also holds a special place in the history of the Lewiston-Porter campus and Western New York athletics. The stadium was originally constructed in conjunction with the 1993 World University Games, hosted in Buffalo and across Western New York. More than three decades later, the renovation renews that legacy and positions Elia Stadium for a new generation of athletes and spectators. Together, the improvements to Blakeslee and Elia Stadiums create a unique two-stadium complex that will serve Lewiston-Porter students and the community for many years to come.

While our first priority is providing outstanding facilities and experiences for Lewiston-Porter student-athletes, students, families, and fans, our vision extends beyond our own athletic programs. With two modern turf stadiums located side by side on one campus, Lewiston-Porter hopes to become a destination for larger athletic competitions and special events, including Niagara Frontier League, Section VI, and New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) events.

These facilities represent more than new turf and physical improvements. They represent an investment in our students, our athletic programs, our community, and the long-term future of the Lewiston-Porter campus.

We invite the entire Lewiston-Porter community to join the Board of Education, administration, staff, coaches, and student-athletes on Friday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m. as we officially celebrate the next chapter in the history of Blakeslee and Elia Stadiums.
