Superintendent's Message Regarding Local Celebration on August 1st

Dear Lewiston-Porter Families, Staff, Students, and Community Members,

As our nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, I would like to encourage our school community to take part in a very special local celebration right here in Niagara County.

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the Niagara County America 250 Committee will host a Spectacular Live Drone Show at Old Fort Niagara from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This family-friendly event will celebrate our nation’s rich history while showcasing the beauty and significance of one of our region’s most historic landmarks.

The evening will feature:

  • A spectacular live drone show by Skyworx
  • Performances by the Niagara County-Wide America 250 Concert Band
  • Musical performances by David & Ginger Hildebrand
  • A performance by the U.S. Army Band
  • Food vendors and family-friendly activities
  • A unique opportunity to celebrate America's 250th birthday with neighbors from across Niagara County

Admission is free, though a parking pass is required; you can also park outside the state park and walk in.

Few places are better suited to celebrating America's history than Old Fort Niagara, a site that has played a significant role in our nation's story for more than 300 years. This promises to be a memorable evening for families, students, and community members of all ages.

Please see the attached flyer for additional details, including parking information and registration instructions.

We hope many members of the Lewiston-Porter family will join in this historic community celebration.

Sincerely,

Paul J. Casseri
Superintendent of Schools
Lewiston-Porter Central School District
