The District's individual PTA groups have combined into a districtwide PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association)! The PTSA is a group of parents, teachers and students from all four school buildings who are committed to providing enriching learning opportunities that enhance the teaching and learning that happens in the classroom on a daily basis. The PTSA provides a great opportunity to brainstorm and plan fundraising events as well as fun and enriching programs and activities for the students all while meeting and connecting with other parents and teachers.
Did you know that the PTSA is a non-profit organization? This means that every dollar made through our various fundraisers (Cherry Dale, Niagara Chocolates, Box Tops, etc.) go right back to our schools and our kids! Each year the PTSA fully funds an author visit to both the PEC and the IEC as well as the end of the year field day. The PTSA has also provided funding that allowed PEC and IEC student to experience the Niagara Aquarium touch tank, Buffalo Zoomobile, Nickel City Reptiles and more. In addition, the PTSA fundraisers help support field trips including the IEC’s schoolwide outing to see the Buffalo Bisons! One of the newest opportunities that the PTSA has been able to provide funding for is the new Garden Club.
The PTSA also organizes opportunities for family outings, including an NU hockey night in the winter, a Bisons baseball game in the spring and a movie night at the IEC.
We would love to hear what ideas you might have and hope you will consider joining us! To join and for meeting dates and locations, visit our webpage.
