Dear Lewiston-Porter High School Families,

My name is Christopher D’Anna and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new Principal of Lewiston-Porter High School. I am honored and humbled to have been selected to continue my service at the administrative level in the Lewiston-Porter Central School District, which is known far and wide for its dedication to excellence, but more importantly, to children. Over my eighteen-year educational career, I have worked as a teacher, assistant principal, club advisor and coach, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.

 As an instructional leader of our fine high school, I enthusiastically embrace the task of continuing to ensure that students are prepared with the necessary tools to be productive citizens as they write the next chapter of their lives. I realize that differentiated, rigorous, and relevant instruction that meets the needs of each student will be the vehicle to continuing the success that has been experienced. The learning environment must be as safe and secure as possible for all students, staff, and support personnel. A team approach most definitely is necessary to create and maintain that desired learning environment.

 A well-rounded education means outstanding instruction from top-notch teachers, as well as extracurricular opportunities and supports that enable students to develop character, cultivate passions, and explore the world outside of the classroom. As the principal, I am committed to ensuring that student needs and interests help shape instruction and extracurricular opportunities. Through this shared commitment to learning, I am excited to see students engaged in the classroom, scoring the winning point on the field, performing in the musical, or any other area that peaks student interest and passion. Most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents, guardians and staff. It is my goal of getting to know the amazing students, parents, guardians, and staff in the Lewiston-Porter Central School District, while also learning about the rich school history and success. This school and community are one of great enthusiasm and pride. It is through that enthusiasm and pride that I look forward to being an integral part of this community with my own family and working with each of you to continue the great successes in this school district.

 My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. This has been my philosophy since I began my career as a teacher and an educational leader. My greatest achievement comes not professionally, but personally, as I am the father of three beautiful children: Nicholas (14), Ryan (10) and Brittany (10). People often say I treat all children in my school as if they were my own. Please know I will work tirelessly to ensure all your children have the best possible experiences while at Lewiston-Porter High School.
