• Annual Budget Vote and Election 2023-2024
    The 2023-2024 Annual Budget Vote and Election for the Lewiston-Porter Central School District will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Community Resource Center (Multi-Purpose Room), 4061 Creek Road, Youngstown, New York 14174.     The Budget Hearing will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., at the Community Resource Center (Board Room) 4061 Creek Road, Youngstown, New York 14174.

    Board of Education Election
    There will be three at-large Board of Education seats on the May 16th ballot.  The two candidates who receive the highest number of votes will serve three-year terms from July 1, 2023 until June 30, 2026.  The candidate who receives the third highest number of votes will serve immediately after the election (upon filing the oath of office) until June 30, 2025.

    Budget Presentations:

    Voter Eligibility
    To qualify as a voter, a person must be:  

    • a citizen of the United States
    • at least 18 years old
    • a resident of Lewiston-Porter Central School District for at least 30 days prior to the vote. (Education Law § 2012)

    Apartment dwellers who meet these qualifications are eligible. No prior registration is required and residents do not have to be registered voters. (Education Law § 2012). If you are interested in registering to vote for other elections that do require registration, you can register to vote at the Niagara County Board of Elections

    How to Receive an Absentee Ballot

    A completed absentee ballot application is required to allow you to obtain an absentee ballot for the Annual District Budget Vote on May 16, 2023. You must fill out all applicable items for your application to be valid. You may either drop off your completed application or mail it to the District Clerk.

    If you mail the absentee application, it must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the day of the vote in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you. If you personally deliver the application, you may pick up a ballot up to the day before the vote. No representative may pick up a ballot for you.

    For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid military absentee ballot application no later than 5 p.m. on April 21, 2023. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission, or electronic mail.

    A list of all persons to whom absentee voter ballots have been issued will be maintained and be available for public inspection during office hours until the day of the election. Such a list will also be available during the election.
