UPK Hybrid Model
Monday: All UPK students will attend a virtual meeting with their teacher at a scheduled time. No students will report to school for in person learning.
Green Group (Last Names A-L): Attends school on Tuesday and Wednesday; remote learning Thursday, and Friday.
White Group (Last Names M-Z): Attends school on Thursday and Friday; remote learning Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Remote learning requirements: All students will be sent home with a calendar of activities to complete each day while they are at home. These activities might be sent home by the teacher or things they will complete through an online platform.
Use of masks: As of now, masks will be worn by students during drop off, pick up and all transition times. When the students are seated in their socially distant classroom seat, they will be able to remove their masks. Staff will always have a mask on throughout the day.
Parent drop off/pick up: With the changes put forth parents will not be coming into the building to drop off their child daily like in years past. Teachers will come out to complete the students COVID screen as well as take their temperature. Then the students will walk into door 7 independently for school.
The program follows the OWL Curriculum (Opening the World of Learning). Students also partake in the Second Step curriculum supporting social emotional learning.
Assessment: The teachers evaluate the children using Brigance assessment tools and this will be reported to the parents at conference time. Parents complete the Ages and Stages Questionnaire to assess social emotional learning. The ASQ:SE will be emailed to each family for completion.
